the use of intoxicants to connect with a higher consciousness has been going on longer than history can tell about.people have found the use of plants for this purpose very usefull and satisfieing,more satisfieing than prayer or sacrafices to supposed Gods.the reason for this is that works almost all the time,nothing works every time.the main argument against the use of plants for this purpose is since no one may stay no one may go,a pretty crude argument if you think about it,because if you were to stay in that condition you wouldn't be able to get much done.I do understand the confusion that may be caused from the idea of losing touch with your enviroment and entering the depths of your inner consciousness so you may find a clearer view of the universe,but remember that all forms of meditation are based on that premise,so that shouldn't be much more confusing than most eastern religions and some western relgions.well,thats enough for a start.there will be more. may the light be with you
